ABOUT US

CrossFit Outpace originally started as a tiny affiliate out of our founder’s garage in Windsor with a handful of loyal members. Even though we have grown and are lucky enough to be in a larger location in the heart of Windsor, we have not forgotten our roots -- maintaining a small family culture and a welcoming, inclusive environment for all of our members is an integral part of our values. We know each and every one of our members, and always provide coaching on a personal level. This will never change.

We believe in quality coaching for every single athlete, in every single class. We know this is the right path to get you breakthrough, sustainable results.

We have a true passion for CrossFit, and walk the talk. In fact, you will see our coaches jump in everyday and perform the same workouts (when they are not coaching) as the rest of our members. We are committed to your fitness and your health, enthusiastic about our community, and always striving to make your time at CrossFit Outpace the best hour of your day.

YOUR COACHES

Owner / Head Coach

Alex grew up in Spain playing competitive soccer as a goalie and racing as an 800m runner on the track & field team. In his 30’s he caught the running bug and competed in several long distance running events, ranging from 5Ks to half marathons. His experience in endurance sports gave him an exceptional ability to discern the appropriate pacing strategy to maximize an athlete’s potential on a given workout.

Once he discovered CrossFit, he was immediately hooked. Not only did he know he had found the perfect training regimen to achieve his highest fitness potential, but became humbled and inspired by the community that CrossFit creates.

Alex always promotes a positive training environment at CrossFit Outpace, in order to help his clients defeat self-doubt and overcome any self-imposed limitations so they can unlock and achieve their full potential.

Alex holds a number of accreditations and regularly attends additional training as part of his continuing education, which he then applies to coaching his athletes.

Jared Garcia

Coach

Jared was born and raised in Sonoma County. He was a competitive high school athlete playing football, baseball, and walking onto the track team his senior year. After much success in high school, he went on to play football at Santa Rosa Junior College for 2 years. Weightlifting had always been an integral part of playing sports but it was at the JC that he was really found a passion in strength and conditioning. He returned to Healdsburg High School to help coach the football and track teams. During the 2012 off-season, he was asked to the run weightlifting program. It was here that his passion for helping others, especially young athletes, really grew.

In July of 2019, Jared joined the CrossFit community at Outpace. He had been following the sport for upwards of ten years and admired the theory and practice on which it stood. Jared currently holds his CrossFit Level 1 training certificate, Precision Nutrition Level 1 Certification, as well as his personal training certificate and is working on his strength and conditioning certificate. The sense of community and the unwavering daily challenge, both physically and mentally, are what makes being a part of the CrossFit Outpace family so special.

Craig Hartman

Coach

One of the things Craig loves most about athletics and training is the mental game and the inevitable personal growth that comes with doing hard things over and over.  He grew up in an active family where family reunions were more like Olympic event gatherings (frisbee, soccer, football, baseball, volleyball, etc.). If it had a score that could be kept, it was on the list.  Growing up he played organized soccer, baseball, and studied martial arts for years until leaving Santa Rosa to attend college.

Craig has a passion for human physiology and biomechanics.  He remembers studying musculoskeletal charts in elementary school to improve his comic book drawings.  However, as an adult he has realized that what he was really interested in was a greater understanding of the body, how it moves and how it is put together. Before graduating chiropractic school in 2006 Craig also sought credentialing as a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist, just for fun. When he found the CrossFit methodology along with its profound yet concise explanation of total human fitness, there was no going back.  Now a full-time doctor of chiropractic, and owner/operator of Hartman Chiropractic, Craig spends most of his day helping others move better.  But here at Outpace, he is fully committed to helping you move yourself better.

Courtney Hlebakos

Coach

Born and raised in Sonoma County, Courtney started gymnastics at the age of 2 and soccer at 4. By 9 years old, she was competing in both sports and ultimately ended up choosing to stick with soccer. She played varsity all 4 years of high school and played club until she was 18.  When she turned 19, she had a 3rd ankle surgery and was told she could no longer compete.  After feeling lost for a few months, getting into the typical "globo gym" and started focusing in on nutrition, she wasn't sure what to do.

After having her son, she knew she needed to find an outlet for herself, like soccer once did.  Courtney discovered CrossFit in August of 2015 and never looked back.  She wanted to learn more and become a better athlete so she got her level 1 certificate  She started coaching 3 months later just to help out and eventually took on a consistent schedule.  Courtney truly enjoys watching others accomplish goals, big and small and do things they never thought possible.  Being able to raise her kids in this community and show them how important health and fitness is, is what keeps her motivated.
